I met Liz at the Sakai conference and she started to tell me all about it.
How do you like to learn?
I like to be told or shown exactly what to do in baby steps to achieve a simple goal, then be told where to find more information. Programmers will know this as the standard "hello world" way of learning new technologies.
How do you deal with change?
Must admit I like to be "in the groove" - so you could say I try to avoid it. At least sometimes.
What experience have you had with learning technologies & social media?
6 years programming online learning systems. That means I know a fair bit about the technology side of things. As for social media I'm a light user of the recent web 2.0 stuff like Facebook, but have been using email lists for well... a very long time ;-)
How can we create really enjoyable learning experiences?
Don't ask me, I'm a techie! But since techies never "don't know" anything - I'll say don't let the technology get in the way. Make the process EASY, comfortable, fun, obvious, etc, even if the content is challenging.
Anything else you'd like to add about yourself?
Married with 2 boys, emigrated to Perth in 99, loving life! Starting up a little elearning technology company - Keem Bay Research which might fit quite well with SKIL2 dream!
Do you run websites or blogs that you want to let us know about?
